Salam, I’m Hiba Taissir!
Welcome! I'm a native Arabic speaker, qualified teacher, and curriculum specialist with over 20 years of experience teaching Arabic to children, teenagers, university students, and adults. I am passionate about making Arabic learning enjoyable, practical, and accessible, helping learners gain the confidence to communicate effectively while discovering the richness of the Arabic language and culture.
I hold an MA and an MPhil in Comparative Linguistics (Arabic/French) from Paris 8 University, together with a PGCE in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector from Birkbeck, University of London. My academic background, combined with many years of teaching experience, enables me to deliver lessons that are both engaging and academically rigorous.
Throughout my career, I have taught Arabic in a wide range of educational settings, including secondary schools, colleges, universities, and adult education. I have worked with learners of all ages and abilities—from complete beginners taking their first steps in Arabic to advanced students preparing for GCSE, A Level, university studies, and professional or personal language goals.
Alongside teaching, I have a strong passion for curriculum design and educational resource development. I create high-quality, interactive learning materials that make Arabic easier to understand, enjoyable to learn, and relevant to real-life situations. My lessons focus on developing all four language skills—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—while building confidence every step of the way.
I believe that learning a language should be an inspiring and rewarding journey. My goal is not only to help you master Arabic but also to encourage a genuine appreciation of the history, literature, and diverse cultures of the Arabic-speaking world.
